My partner and I recently stayed at The House Of Sandeman - Hostel & Suites in Porto for a week-long vacation. We were blown away by our spacious and unique suite, complete with stunning river views. The room was beautifully decorated with vintage furniture, tall shuttered windows, and even a record player with a selection of vinyl. The walk-in shower and luxurious toiletries added to the overall experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, providing complimentary tea, coffee, and cake at 4pm. The key card system ensured our safety and the hotel's location was perfect for exploring all that Porto has to offer. We will definitely be seeking out the 'Independente Collective' during our next trip to Lisbon.

    Would recommend this hotel.

My stay at The House Of Sandeman - Hostel & Suites in Gaia was absolutely amazing! The room I stayed in exceeded my expectations with its stylish decor and comfortable bed. The breakfast offered was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I also loved the view of the river Douro from the reception area. Despite a few small drawbacks, such as the lack of wardrobe in the room and noise from the kitchen in the morning, overall I highly recommend this hotel for a fantastic stay.

It was also equipped with a working turntable and a collection of vinyl records, which added a unique touch. The hotel had a perfect blend of modern and characterful furniture, creating a clean and airy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience staying at this hostel. The location was perfect, with a fantastic view of the river and city. The beds were large and comfortable, providing a good night's sleep. The breakfast offered was delicious and had a variety of options to choose from. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home. The hostel had impressive decor throughout, adding to the overall atmosphere of luxury and comfort. We highly recommend this place for a memorable stay.

The only issue we encountered was the lack of consideration from some other guests, who were loud and disruptive during the night.

During my city trip, I stayed at an old and charming hostel located in the heart of historical sites. The breakfast options were impressive with plenty of choices to suit everyone's palate. The reception staff were always welcoming and helpful, even offering packed breakfast for our early excursion. The most impressive aspect of this hostel was the huge bar outside, offering a great atmosphere to unwind. By 10/11 pm the bar emptied, and we never faced any noise issues.

One minor issue I faced was with the shower, which was not very powerful and sometimes didn't get hot enough. for the price we paid, the stay could have been a bit cheaper.

My thanksgiving experience at this hostel exceeded my expectations. the hospitality offered by the staff was exceptional, making me feel like I was among friends. the common area was spacious and well-equipped, with a bar and a pool table. the perfect intimate environment helped me socialize with other travelers and make friends from different countries. the location was ideal, away from the hustle and bustle, and in a quiet and serene environment, which is a great escape from city life.

My experience was slightly dampened by the lack of cleanliness in the bathrooms. Despite the fancy interior design, the cleaning was not on the same level, and there were no hand towels to use, which was discouraging.

The free breakfast was exceptional, with a variety of cheese, meats, yogurt, granola, and fresh orange juice. The freshly baked cakes were a delightful treat. The beds were comfortable and the dorm room was spacious, providing plenty of privacy. The bathrooms were always clean and well-equipped. The overall decor of the hostel was welcoming and homely. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Porto.
