My partner and I recently stayed at The House Of Sandeman - Hostel & Suites in Porto for a week-long vacation. We were blown away by our spacious and unique suite, complete with stunning river views. The room was beautifully decorated with vintage furniture, tall shuttered windows, and even a record player with a selection of vinyl. The walk-in shower and luxurious toiletries added to the overall experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, providing complimentary tea, coffee, and cake at 4pm. The key card system ensured our safety and the hotel's location was perfect for exploring all that Porto has to offer. We will definitely be seeking out the 'Independente Collective' during our next trip to Lisbon.
Would recommend this hotel.

The only issue we encountered was the lack of consideration from some other guests, who were loud and disruptive during the night.

During my city trip, I stayed at an old and charming hostel located in the heart of historical sites. The breakfast options were impressive with plenty of choices to suit everyone's palate. The reception staff were always welcoming and helpful, even offering packed breakfast for our early excursion. The most impressive aspect of this hostel was the huge bar outside, offering a great atmosphere to unwind. By 10/11 pm the bar emptied, and we never faced any noise issues.
One minor issue I faced was with the shower, which was not very powerful and sometimes didn't get hot enough. for the price we paid, the stay could have been a bit cheaper.

My thanksgiving experience at this hostel exceeded my expectations. the hospitality offered by the staff was exceptional, making me feel like I was among friends. the common area was spacious and well-equipped, with a bar and a pool table. the perfect intimate environment helped me socialize with other travelers and make friends from different countries. the location was ideal, away from the hustle and bustle, and in a quiet and serene environment, which is a great escape from city life.
My experience was slightly dampened by the lack of cleanliness in the bathrooms. Despite the fancy interior design, the cleaning was not on the same level, and there were no hand towels to use, which was discouraging.
